  • What should I choose for my home – aluminium or uPVC systems?

Aluminium and uPVC systems hold very good thermal and sound insulating qualities, with trickle ventilation and controlled drainage. They are sufficiently strong and stable to standards. The aluminium profiles are constructive healthier and practically eternal. Most often the life of uPVC is less, depending on the conditions and maintenance. As talk about price, aluminium systems are significantly more expensive than uPVC, so if we talk about the relationship price – quality uPVC systems come to the fore. The profiles you choose depend on your home and your personal taste.

  • Do you install aluminium and uPVC windows and doors?

Yes, we supply aluminium and uPVC windows and doors. We have a fitting team who can install them. Contact us for more information.

  • Are your profiles environmentally friendly?

Yes, our products and activities are environmentally friendly. We fulfil our responsibilities to save energy, promote recycling, reduce wastage and avoid damages to the environment. Aluminium frames are slim and long-lasting, uPVC frames are the most common type, they last a long time. Both can be recycled.

  • Do you offer different colours aluminium and uPVC systems?

Yes, all our windows and doors are available in a wide range of colours. Contact us for more information.

  • What size do you offer?

For each customer, we do individual project sizes. Besides offering a wide range of doors and windows, each product is manufactured strictly individual and strives to satisfy customer preferences and specifications.

  • How do I measure?

We recommend you to measure the structural opening and provide dimensions which include less than 10 mm fitting allowance.

  • Do you offer a measuring service for glass products?

If you chose our London based company for your project, we will come and take exact measurements. Contact us for more information.

  • Can condensation appear between the two/three panes?

Condensation into the unit is a sign of a default and it must be replaced. If glass packets are produced by the standards you should not have any problems.

  • Will I have condensation, moisture and mould inside the room?

Condensation depends on the micro-climate in your home. There are methods you can use to reduce condensation: use glass packets with special low emission glass; install heaters under the window to increase the temperature and move the air around it; lower the humidity in the room. It could be done by installing trickle ventilation and ventilate properly to control fresh airflow.

  • Do I need trickle ventilation?

Yes, your property needs a constant supply of fresh airflow. You need mandatory trickle ventilation for replacement windows and for all windows in new builds and extensions according to the current building regulations.

  • How do I maintain trickle ventilation?

Periodically wash the trickle ventilation grid to optimise the fresh airflow into the room.

  • How do I maintain and clean windows and doors?

We recommend all uPVC units to be washed down every six months with warm, soapy water solution. Hinges and locks (all moving parts) need oil spraying at least every six months.

  • Do you use Pilkington glass?

Yes, we use 28 mm Pilkington’s KS (soft coat) double glazing and 36 mm Pilkington’s KS (soft coat) triple glazing. They come with argon gas filling as standard and warm edge spacer bar.

  • Do you offer Georgian bars within the glass units?

Yes, we offer internal Georgian bars within the glazing unit and decorative lead. Contact us for more information.

  • What is low emission glass?

This type of glass has large absorption and a better reflection of long waves, which are the waves of the heating appliances. Low-emission glass has better thermal insulation properties.

  • How do I know which windows are energy efficient?

You can check the energy efficiency of a window by looking at the BFRC, Certass or BSI label, also known as a “rainbow label”. The higher the energy rating, the more energy-efficient it is.

  • What energy rating and U values are your windows?

All our products are A rated as standard. You need to look for the A-G ratings and remember A is the best.

  • What are the specifications of double and triple glazing?

Double glazing has two layers of glass with a gap of around 20 mm between them (4-20-4) with argon gas, white spacer bar as standard, low E soft coated. Triple glazing has three layers of glass with 36 mm thickness (4-12-4-12-4) with argon gas, spacer bars as standard, low E soft coated. Triple glazing will provide significantly more noise and heat insulation than double glazing. Both are A rated.

  • Do you offer emergency glazing and repair service?

Yes, we offer an emergency service 24/7 for London. Contact us for more information.

  • What is between the panes of glass?

All windows come with gas filling like argon, xenon or krypton in the gap between the panes of glass to increase insulation and energy efficiency. Often manufacturers use a blend of air, argon, and krypton to balance cost and performance. Double glazed units have warm spacers set around the inside edges to keep the two panes of glass apart.

  • Do the doors come with frames?

Yes, all doors are supplied rehung on the frame ready to install.

  • What is the add-on?

Frame extensions are used to make the frame thicker. It is useful to expose more of the door when the walls will be rendered or skimmed dashed. It can also be used to pack out the hinges of the door so that they do not foul the wall. It can be used also for window frames.
